Mechanical engineering

Scientific, design and production capacities of the shipyard allow to unite all stages of the creation of modern diesel engines, repair and technical maintenance of the engines, which are in service. Over the past 50 years, the company has repaired more than 5000 diesel engines of various types and modifications and assembled a few dozen of new engines.
 The main part of the company’s products is used on the ships of the Navies and border guard ships: missile, torpedo, landing and antisubmarine ships, coastal minesweepers and sea sweepers, coast guard ships, hydrofoils. Diesel engines which are repaired and manufactured at the Liepaja Shipyard are in service in more than 20 countries of the world.

Diesel machine workshop

Specialized diesel machine workshop is equipped with the equipment and aggregates, special equipment and tools, as well as benches for testing and adjustment of the mounted units and parts of engines, fresh water pumps, modular units, sea water pumps, regulators of revolutions, fuel pumps, fuel pumps regulators, oil pumps, pump sections pressure test, running-in of the block pumps, that provide the necessary productivity and high quality of performed works. High qualification of the specialists of the enterprise ensures exceptional reliability and quality of the products.

When the assembly is completed, all diesel engines are undergoing the cycle of tests on special test benches:
  1. Main test bench №1 – the capacity of the engines is up to 12000 HP.
  2. Test bench №2 – the capacity of the engines is up to 2000 HP.
  3. Test bench №3 – the capacity of the engines is up to 600 HP.

M417 – 12-cylinder V-type four-stroke diesel engine with 1st degree of automation, equipped with reverse clutch, the crankcase of which is attached to the crankcase of the engine by the front flange.

The engine has improved efficiency and increased service life and due to significant continuity of design can be used for modernization of the vessels in operation.

M507 – an engine consisting of two 56-cylinder diesel units (diesels), each of them works for its own shaft. The units are connected with each other by a main gearbox, which transmits rotation of crankshafts of the units to the power take-off flange.

Among the main advantages of the model are the integrated reverse reduction gearbox, compact design and low weight along with high output (7355 kW).
